Great Destinations in Batangas City

Batangas City, the capital city of Batangas Province, is popularly known as the “Industrial Port City of CALABARZON” which means Cavite, Laguna, Batanggas Rizal and Quezon.  The city is considered as one of the fastest developing cities in the Philippines.  It is now a bustling center of commerce and industry and is one of the top earning cities of the country.   Batangas City has received numerous accolades both locally and internationally in terms of different aspects of governance such as proper waste management and excellent service awards among others.  One example of which is the International Award recently received by Batangas City pertaining from LIVCOM or Liveable Communities Competition wherein Batangas City garnered Gold Award in the Project Category and Silver Award for the Whole City Category.

Beaches and Falls in Batangas City

Gerthel Beach

This beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Batangas.  It is specifically situated in the town of Lobo.  It stretches up to one kilometer with its gleaming white fine sand.  If you want to stay and experience the paradise-like haven, you may stay at a beach resort in the area which accommodates the vacationers.

Hugon Beach
This is another destination beach situated in Barangay Hugon, San Juan. Like Gerthel Beach, this attraction also stretches for about one kilometer and boasts of its white fine sand.  This spot is perfect for swimming, diving and snorkeling.

Mahabang Buhangin Beach

The name of the beach itself speaks a lot.  Literally means “Long Sandy Beach,” this tourist attraction lives up to its name and is located in San Juan.  The beach is proud of its untouched beauty of coral colonies that are home to various fishes and other marine lives.  Another beauty that adds to the appeal of the place is the nearby cave.

Matabungkay Beach
Perhaps the longest of all the beaches in Batangas City, Matabungkay Beach stretches for at least two kilometers of white fine sand.  This beach is located in Lian, which faces the China Sea. This tourist destination is perfect for enjoyable water sports like swimming, fishing, boating, skin diving and yachting.  Along the shoreline, a lot of summer cottages serve as accommodation for the locals and tourists alike.
Cueva Sitio

This ideal place for family outings and picnic with friends is situated on Isla Verde Island.  Cueva Sitio’s main appeal is the presence of the rock shelter or cave-like opening at the base of a cliff which has always provided cool shade to the tired, yet exhilarated visitors to the island.

Submarine Garden
True to its name, the Submarine Garden boasts of untouched colorful coral reefs home to various marine lives. The place is situated in the town of Lobo and takes pride in its coral garden that can be viewed near the shore which marks the uniqueness of the place. It can perfectly be seen and appreciated best during the early mornings when the tide is low and the water is clear.

Bulalacao Falls

Bulalacao Falls is a collection of three magnificent falls, the highest of which is 10 ft. high. This place is situated in Barangay Bulaklakan, Lipa City.   Be amazed at how hidden beauty of nature never fails to awe its beholder.

Calijon Falls

Another awesome collection of a group of two big falls and two smaller ones is Calijon Falls. The biggest falls is about ten feet high with a great volume of crystal clear water gushing down. The second bigger falls gives an elaborate stream of water, thus the falls itself resembles a bridal down, while the other two smaller falls form series of intricate cascades.  This group of falls is found in Barangay Calijon, Malvar.

Ilijan Falls
This majestic falls is situated in Barangay Ilijan, thus the name.  This falls is unique in such a way that the water appears to emit from a huge bowl and gracefully glides from one bowl to another. Made up of seven stone bowls and resembles a flight of stairs carved beautifully on the mountainsides, this falls is undeniably one of the great tourist destinations of the city.

Tingga Falls
Another tourist attraction is Tingga Falls situated in Daang Ibaan. This falls has a towering height of 30 feet with a pool at its base best for swimming.
